Goal

Malakoff Corporation Berhad, a leading IPP in Malaysia, aimed to migrate IT workloads to a trusted partner Silver Lining Systems cloud based on Ubuntu OpenStack.

Challenges & solution

Silver Lining Systems deployed Hystax Acura, which provided a sophisticated approach to moving VMware virtual machines to the OpenStack platform.
Hystax Acura allowed Silver Lining Systems to build a transparent migration process and migrate Malakoff Berhad IT workloads in 2 months with thorough testing and control from the customer side.
Customer workloads of Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange Server, and Oracle DB (58 VMs and 1 physical server) were migrated by Silver Lining Systems to their cloud. Hystax Acura migrated workloads and applications to several OpenStack regions under KVM and Hyper-V hypervisors. The snapshot size started at 40 GB and grew to the maximum size of 4,7 TB. The total data size was over 36TB.
